He served in the US ARMY from 1981 to 1983 as a Signal Corp Radio Teletype Communications Specialist assigned to the 4th Mechanized Infantry division, stationed at Ft. Carson Colorado.
He was involved in the Grenada invasion and also served in the US Air force National Guard from 1984 to 1988 in Minnesota.
